Last Chance!

Friday, June 29th, 2007

The fiscal year closes tomorrow. So there are really only hours left to show S.U. some love by giving a gift.

You can give to Scholarship, you can give to Athletics, you can give $5 … as long as you just give! Any amount to any purpose proves that your true colors are orange and maroon.

Gifts for 2006-2007 must be postmarked or received online by June 30. Go to http://development.susqu.edu/html/now/now.html.

Or mail your gift to the Susquehanna University Fund, 514 University Avenue, Selinsgrove, PA 17870-1164.

This is also your last chance to honor someone from SU who has made a difference in your life with a gift.

Grant Supports Social Justice

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

Susquehanna University was recently awarded a $104,500 grant from the Carl Hitchner Foundation of Palm Springs, CA, to establish the Carl H. Hitchner ’62 Endowed Fellowship in Social Justice.

The fellowship will provide a stipend and program support for juniors and seniors who are interested in exploring a range of topics, from sexual and gender diversity to diverse identities and their intersections. Examples of projects include increasing awareness about transgender issues or significant research aimed at understanding and exploring diversity at SU.

The Hitchner Foundation grant, in addition to supporting diversity, will also promote important priorities at Susquehanna, including leadership, inclusiveness, student-faculty collaboration, scholarship and citizenry to name a few.

Carl H. Hitchner was a 1962 accounting graduate of Susquehanna University. He served on our Board of Directors from 1995 to 2001. Carl was recognized as a distinguished alumnus in 1993 with the Alumni Achievement Award for his many accomplishments as a nationally recognized attorney in the health care field. He is remembered for his leadership, insight and sense of humor.

Hurry, Get Your Gift In!

Friday, June 1st, 2007

With June 30 as the end of the fiscal year, alumni, parents and friends only have a few more weeks to get their gifts and pledge payments made to be recognized as donors for the 06-07 fiscal year.
Alumni donors are needed to help reach the University’s participation goal. Giving annually is an important way for alumni to show their appreciation of their Susquehanna experience and a desire to support future generations of alumni.
This is a goal that is evaluated by outside sources and surveys like U.S. News & World Report.
Any amount counts toward recognition and gifts can be designated in any direction, even to financial aid, academic departments and athletics.
Go to http://development.susqu.edu/html/now/now.html to make your gift today.
